
What’s New in Padel: September 2025 Edition
This is the first edition of the What’s New in Padel blog, a weekly roundup covering the latest competitions, racket launches, and updates from the UK scene.
🏆 Competition
The global padel calendar is buzzing right now.
- Reserve Cup, Marbella: 18th-20th of September, Marbella hosts the glamorous Reserve Cup at Puente Romano. Big names, including Arturo Coello, Ale Galán, and Agustín Tapia, will be in action.
- Premier Padel Tour 2025: With 24 tournaments across 16 countries, Premier Padel continues to dominate the global circuit. Majors are scheduled in Qatar (April), Italy (June), France (September), and Mexico (November), leading into the Finals in Barcelona 8th-14th of December.
- Cupra Germany Premier Padel P2: For the first time, Premier Padel lands in Germany, with a P2 event in Düsseldorf running 22nd-28th September.
- Anglo-American Padel Cup: Coming up on 10–11 October in North London, Team GB will take on Team USA across multiple age categories. Backed by Playtomic and Babolat, it promises to be a showcase event for the UK padel scene.

- Team GB recently competed in the FIP Euro Padel Cup (formerly the European Championships).
- British star Catherine Rose continues her rise, breaking into the Top 100 in the FIP world rankings, now sitting at #95.
🎾 Rackets
It’s been a busy season for racket launches, with big brands unveiling fresh models:
- Bullpadel Neuron 02 Edge – A new signature model for Federico Chingotto, designed for control and precision.
- Bullpadel Pearl 26 – The latest weapon of choice for Bea González, combining finesse with power.
- Bullpadel 2026 Range – Bullpadel has teased new moulds and technologies, including updates to the ever-popular Vertex line. Expect to see these in the hands of top professionals throughout the coming year.
- Bullpadel and Premier Padel have also collaborated on a stylish new collection of rackets for 2025, blending performance with design flair.
Head, Adidas, Cork, and others are expected to announce their 2026 lines soon — we’ll be keeping a close eye.
🇬🇧 UK Padel
There’s plenty happening on home soil too:
- Catherine Rose has officially cracked the Top 100, joining Tia Norton as one of Britain’s leading international players.
- LTA Padel has announced its 2025 Performance Competitions Calendar, featuring:
- 4 international FIP events
- 11 British Tour Grade 1 events
- 15 British Tour Grade 2 events
- 3 junior FIP Promises tournaments
- A new partnership with Padel-TV means more UK tournaments will be streamed online, bringing top-level domestic matches to a wider audience.
- UK Padel has secured naming rights to the National Universities Padel League (NUPL), which will now run free of entry fees for student competitors – a big boost for grassroots padel in the UK.
- The Anglo-American Padel Cup in October is a major upcoming event for GB players to test themselves against international opposition.
🆕 New UK Courts
Here are recent or upcoming court developments around the UK — new facilities, expansions, or innovative ideas in court locations.

Liverpool Waters – Floating Padel Courts
The UK’s first floating padel courts are set to open in Prince’s Dock, Liverpool, in autumn 2025. There will be three floating courts plus the world’s first floating clubhouse, featuring bar, kitchen, and decked seating overlooking the water. -
The Nest (Norwich / Broadland area)
Planning permission has been submitted for three new community-focused courts: two covered courts plus one outdoor. The project emphasises accessibility, inclusive sessions (disability, youth, older adults), and strong community offerings. -
Withdean (Brighton & Hove)
Four new padel courts are now open for bookings at Withdean, with additional tennis courts coming soon. -
University of Surrey – Surrey Sports Park (Guildford)
A major new premium facility is planned: ten covered courts at the Surrey Sports Park, being developed by PadelStars. Includes a show court, clubhouse, café/bar, social spaces and retail. Expected ~2026. -
Birmingham – New Courts at Moseley Sporting Village
New courts in Birmingham opened in late July 2025 (official event on 2 August) at Moseley Sporting Village. -
Cardiff – Llandaff Fields
Smash Padel has opened six new panoramic, covered courts at Llandaff Fields in Cardiff.

With floating courts, university centres, and community hubs sprouting up across the UK, access to padel is accelerating fast. New court infrastructure, rising stars, and fresh equipment make for an exciting time in British padel.
